Regular ‘real-life’ escape rooms are so 2018.
The Old Port is hosting “Horos” all summer, a free-roam virtual reality escape room that “blurs the lines between what is real and what is imaginary.”

Produced by AR/VR company Phenomena, the escape room blends interactive development with content creation and scenography, giving guests a “turnkey location-based experience.”
The VR voyage of Horos is a two-player immersive game that allows users to simultaneously walk freely in a virtual world which is synchronized to physical space.
Horos works by using a virtual reality head mounted display that allows guests to “travel between land, sea, space, and time in the company of Séni, your exploration guide.”
Gamers use a controller to interact within the world, and feel the virtual as if it was real. As guests progress further into the journey, you may need to solve puzzles to return into the real world.
(Not actually, but just go with it.)

The Horos VR escape room is open every day until October 1 and each game takes 15 to 20 minutes to complete.. unless, of course, you get stuck in the virtual world forever — again, not really.
Admission costs $15 per player and guests are asked to arrive 10 minutes beforehand to check-in.
