The Northern Lights could be making an appearance over Quebec’s skies this week.
According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), a G2 moderate geometric storm has been issued for September 13.
This means that the Northern Lights should be visible in southern areas of the US. However, there is also a chance that the auroras could also appear over Quebec if skies are clear.
Updates on the Northern Lights and timing will be available on the Space Weather Prediction Centre’s ‘Aurora- 30 Minute Forecast’ page. The expected time of the Lights varies between latitudes, but it generally happens anytime between 10 pm and 4 am local time.
To catch the show in full display, try to head away from city centres and light pollution. And don’t forget your cameras.
