While temperatures are expected to reach 18°C in Montreal today, but this fall warmth will soon be a thing of the past.

AccuWeather has just released their winter forecast for Quebec, and it’s not looking great.

The weather website is forecasting a “snow-filled winter” with frequent snow storms, thanks to the development of La Niña, according to AccuWeather Canadian Weather Expert Brett Anderson.

Eastern Canada is expected to have a few big snowstorms throughout the winter.

“There are opportunities for several significant snow events from Windsor through Toronto and up into Ottawa and Montreal this winter, especially in January and February,” Anderson said.

But it’s good news for snow lovers and winter sports enthusiasts. The combination of frequent snowstorms and lake-effect snow events will make for a good ski and snowmobile season across eastern Canada, according to Accuweather.

So basically, expect lots of snow in Quebec.
