Montreal man tackles winter by rigging snowplow to his smart car (VIDEO)
A Montreal man has added another attribute to his smart car’s name: snowplow.
In a video posted to YouTube, user Frank Of All TradesĀ has demonstrated another alternative to complaining about the city’s lack of snow removal:
Doing it yourself.

“It took me 6 months of planning to find the right fit with an electric car and an electric snow plow that would work together,” says inventor Frank Espina. “But I finally did it.”
The video shows the inventor driving around a street in St-Henri with a rigged smart car that features a lowering and fully functional plow.
His smart-snowplow car is small enough to tackle his condo’s driveway, the city’s sidewalks and powerful enough to shovel away snow on the roads.
“I installed a snow plow on an electric smart so I can plow at 3 am without waking up residents,” reads Espina’s YouTube caption. “And, for fun.”
Espina has swapped six months of planning with never have to use a shovel again — a solid trade.
