Mother Nature and the Grinch may be collaborating this year as rain warnings continue for numerous parts of Quebec today, including Montreal.
Heavy rain is kicking off the holidays starting this afternoon with 50 to 70 millimetres of rain expected throughout the greater Quebec area.

Daytime temperatures will reach 5°C, rising slightly overnight to 7°C as rain continues into Friday which will remain cloudy at a high of 13°C with you guessed it, rain.
A possibility of snow is also noted Friday night with temperatures plummeting to -3°C.
Some areas like La-Cote-de-Beaupre and Charlevoix will see up to 130 millimetres by Christmas Morning as a result of higher terrain.
Environment Canada is also alerting Quebecers to possible flash flooding and water pooling that will impact road conditions.
All areas included in the weather alert include:
- Bellechasse area
- Côte-de-Beaupré – L’Île d’Orléans area
- Lévis area
- Lotbinière area
- Portneuf area
- Québec area
- Saint-Lambert area
- Valcartier – Stoneham area
Moving into the weekend, temperatures remain at -3°C with a mix of sun and cloud going into a chilly evening that dips to -13°C. Expect a slightly warmer day on Sunday with a high of -6°C.
Weather continues to fluctuate for Quebec next week that will begin with rain and flurries on Monday, but transition Tuesday and Wednesday to what will hopefully be a sunny start to the new year.
