Even Quebec’s mighty poutine can overcome the pandemic.

Le Grand Poutinefest is returning to Montreal this week albeit in a different form.

The greasy festival will be of the drive-thru variety to ensure Montrealers can still gobble up some tasty poutines while adhering to public health’s COVID-19 safety protocols.

Le Grand Poutinefest kicks off this Thursday, August 27, and will be dishing out different takes on the classic dish until Sunday, August 30.

Guests won’t be allowed to park their vehicles or exit them. They can place an order for 13 different poutines and five street food trucks using QR codes.

The QR codes will be found on easily-accessible posters throughout the festival’s site as well as the Le Grand Poutinefest Anjou 2020 Facebook page.

Scanning the QR codes will link you to a digital menu where all your ordering and pick-up directions will be displayed.

The event won’t accept any cash to limit interaction and both debit and credit cards will be accepted.

All of the festival’s staff members will be wearing masks, gloves, and will be following all the health care precautions as advised by pubic health.
