Montreal police say a 36-year-old woman has been arrested and is the main suspect after the stabbing death of her six-year-old daughter.
On Thursday, members of the SPVM (Service de police de la Ville de Montréal) were called to an apartment building in Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve just after 3 am after an anonymous caller heard screams from an apartment unit.
In a phone call with Daily Hive, an SPVM spokesperson says they found the six-year-old girl stabbed and “seriously injured.” She died in hospital early Thursday morning as a result of the stab wounds.
