7 of the biggest music festivals happening in Montreal this summer

It is never too early to start dreaming about summer festival season! This summer Montreal has an impressive lineup of music festivals with concerts throughout the summer. The diverse range of music shows includes jazz, rock, punk and electronic, so there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Pouzza Fest

Pouzza Fest will have over 200 bands performing at nine different downtown venues. Headliners include Reel Big Fish, Face To Face and Anti-Flag.

Montreal International Jazz Festival

The Montreal International Jazz Festival holds the Guinness World Record for the world’s largest jazz festival attracting 2 million visitors each year! From the end of June until early July there will be approximately 650 concerts with 450 of the performances being free.

AIM Montreal’s Electronic Music Festival

Located 1-hour outside of downtown Montreal, AIM offers the ability to camp at the festival and enjoy 32 hours of non-stop music. The 4th year of the festival will feature a wide range of artists on five stages including Carlo Lio, Ben Goldand, and Kenny Dope.

Heavy Montreal

Since Heavy Montreal started in 2008, the two-day heavy metal and rock festival has welcomed close to 300,000 fans. Headliners of these music festivals include Avenged Sevenfold, Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson and Gojira.

Osheaga

Taking place at Parc Jean-Drapeau, Osheaga is a multi-day indie music festival with six stages. This year’s performers including Travis Scott, Arctic Monkeys, Khalid, Odesza, Florence + The Machine, and James Bay. The festival will also be featuring local talent including Paupière, Milk and Bone, Essaie, Pas and A-Trak.
