Montreal restaurants can easily dish out some mean bacon and eggs and some fluffy pancakes but it’s the Quebec-style breakfast poutine that really makes us stand out in the hangover brunch game.

Le Fabergé

Montreal hangover

Speaking of the breakfast poutine, where better place to start than Le Faberg√©. This trendy spot in the Mile End makes a breakfast poutine that can wipe out an entire night’s worth of bad drink decisions.

If you’re looking for a higher-end brunch spot,¬†Le Faberg√© has perfected poached eggs, cr√™pes and hollandaise sauce. Not to mention, some pretty lethal mac and cheese brunch combos.

Address: 25 Avenue Fairmont Ouest
Hours: 8 am Р3 pm (until 5 pm on Saturdays and Sundays)

L’Grox Luxe

Montreal hangover

This cafe-by-day and bar-by-night spot serves brunch until 3 pm on weekends for the hangover gang that can’t do the early mornings.

They have branches sprinkled all over the city and their portions are massive, a perfect remedy to rid last night’s 2 am tequila shots.

A poutine topped with an egg could do the trick too, as could their famous mac and cheese, breakfast sandwiches or loaded Caesar to keep the party going.

Nextdoor Pub & Grill

Montreal hangover

Nextdoor Pub is a casual, cozy, basement bar that makes you feel right at home. Sure, the darkly lit bar helps with the hangover, but not as much as their brunch menu. They substitute their poutine’s fries with potato wedges and the gravy with hollandaise sauce while obviously, keeping the cheese curds.

They also offer all-you-can-drink mimosa deals on Saturdays and Sundays because you can’t get hungover if you keep drinking.

Address: 5175A Rue Sherbrooke Ouest
Hours: Monday РThursday: 11 am Р3 am, Friday РSunday: 8 am Р3 am *brunch served until 3 pm

Universel Déjeuners et Grillades

Montreal hangover

You probably don’t want to think seafood after a night of drinking but Universel might make you change your mind. They offer fresh salmon on bagels and muffins, topped with capers and a hollandaise sauce and it’s scrumptious.

Both upscale restaurants offer gorgeous terraces for you know, some fresh air and their prices aren’t too shabby considering how gorgeous the decor is.

Address: Peel: 2055 Rue Peel, Ste. Catherine: 359 Ste. Catherine Ouest
Hours: 7 am Р11 pm

Arthur’s Nosh Dive Bar

Montreal hangover

Just getting into Arthur’s should be chalked up as a win. The traditional Jewish deli serves breakfast and sandwiches (on homemade bread) in a bright, stylish space.

Arthur’s food offers some healthy salads, granola bowls, and tasty soups. But they can also “grease it” with the best of them: potatoes, crescents, eggs, and smoked meat.

There’s always a line though, so plan ahead. It’ll be well worth it.

Address: 4621 Rue Notre-Dame Ouest
Hours: 8 am Р3 pm (9 am Р4 pm on Saturdays and Sundays)

Burgundy Lion

Montreal hangover

The memorabilia-filled British pub offers an authentic English breakfast that’ll make you feel brand new. They specialize in Yorkshire pudding, sausages and ham, but also offer real tasty grilled cheese,¬†Chicken Tikka masala, and porridge with berries.

Plus, they have one of the most extensive scotch lists in the entire city if you want to head down that road.

Address: 2496 Rue Notre-Dame Ouest
Hours: 11:30 am Р3 am (9 am on Saturdays and Sundays) *brunch served until 2 pm

Restaurant Deli Greenspot

Montreal hangover

Look how Montreal this photo is. That’s exactly why people flood to Greenspot when they’re hungover. Grab some smoked meat, poutine, and bagels all at the same spot. It’s greasy, tasty, and does the job.

Address: 6150 Boulevard Monk
Hours: 7:30 am – 10:45 pm

Katie Z/Yelp

Cosmo’s is your classic dinner brunch spot. They don’t really have a menu – you go in, ask for what you want and the cooks make it for you (and prices it for you) on the spot.

It’s greasy enough to make you forget your hangover and tasty enough to make you want to go back for more, next time.

They’re open at 7 am every day, perfect if you’re up early or still out late.

If your hangover is bad, and you want the fix without the flare of “going out,” Cosmo’s is for you.

Address: 5843 Rue Sherbrooke Ouest
Hours: 7 am Р5 pm

Beautys Luncheonette

Montreal hangover

Beauty’s is a breakfast and brunch dinner in a 1940s retro space. They serve generous portions and are famous for their Montreal-style bagles, lox, and smoothies.

They have an impressive menu and their soups, pancakes and delicious desserts is an instant fixer. Plus they have mouth-watering milkshakes. You had a rough one last night, spoil yourself with some sweets.

Address: 93 Avenue Mont-Royal Ouest
Hours: 7 am Р3 pm (8 am Р4 pm on Saturdays and Sundays)

Café Orange

Montreal hangover

Orange¬†Caf√© makes some tasty Canadian comfort food and they fit it all on the same plate. If you’re craving a loaded omelette to get you through that vodka-infused headache, Orange is calling your name.

Wash that down with a strawberry/banana in-house smoothie and you’ll be back on top of the world in no time.

Address: 4011 Boulevard Decarie
Hours: 6 am Р3 pm (7 am Р4 pm on Saturdays and Sundays)

Reuben’s Deli & Steakhouse

Montreal hangover

Reuben’s is a glorified deli that makes arguably the best-smoked meat in Montreal (don’t tell Schwartz’s). It’s a bit pricier and classier than other¬†alternative brunch spots, but it’s perfect if you’re with a big group and want to recap what happened the night before.

Their ‘Chop-Chop Poutine’ is hefty enough to erase any hangover and you can’t go wrong with their smoked meat, scrambled egg, and potato tot trio.

Address: 1116 Rue Ste. Catherine Ouest
Hours: 8 am Р12 am

La Belle Province

Montreal hangover

Arguably the most popular restaurant chain in Quebec, La Belle Province offers a traditional (and perfectly greasy) breakfast to cure your hangover. ‘Belle Pro doesn’t go over the top with the breakfast choices, they stick to the basics: bacon and eggs.

The dinner also offers their classic poutine at any hour of the day, a goto hangover remedy.

La Belle Province has dozens of chains around Montreal, most of which are open as early as 5 am.

Address: 6752 Rue Saint-Jacques, 1216 Rue Peel, 7555 Boulevard Decarie, 441 Avenue LaFleur, 10501 Henri-Bourassa Boulevard Ouest, 1 Rue Ste. Catherine Est
5 am – 10 pm

 Joes Panini 24h

Montreal hangover

Hangovers don’t work on a schedule. And neither does Joes Panini.

The sandwich specialist is located in a snug spot and they get orders out quickly. They’re open 24/7 and brunch is part of their never-closing hours.

If their bacon and eggs don’t heal you, try their famous spicy chicken or Philly cheesesteak sandwich.

Address: 1404 Rue Drummond
Hours: 24/7

R.E.A.L. Bagel

Montreal hangover

R.E.A.L. Bagel is a Montreal landmark. If you’re hurting from the night before, have R.E.A.L. build you a breakfast sandwich on a fresh bagel, it’s perfection.

They offer salmon, capers, eggs, and chicken bagels as well as salads but you really can’t go wrong with plain cream cheese.

As a reward for getting over your hangover, try a sugary cheese danish and you’ll be ready to go for round two.

Address: 4940 Rue Queen Mary and 667 Boulevard Decarie
Hours: The Queen Mary location is 24/7 and the Decarie location is from 7 am – 7 pm
