
It’s the last day before the Grand Prix craze rides into town. As per usual, there’s a bunch of things happening around Montreal so if you’re looking for a Grand Prix pre-party or something a tad more casual, we’ve got you covered.
U2 at the Bell Centre
Everybody loves some U2. Thankfully, they’re in Montreal tonight as they embark on their worldwide eXPEREINCE & iNNOCENCE tour. Their 14th studio album, Songs of Experience, was released in December so tonight’s show will certainly have some new tunes and they’ll definitely play some classics as well.

Dress to Kill 10th Anniversary Party
The Formula 1 Montreal Grand Prix kicks off the week in high fashion and style. Dress to Kill is a Canadian fashion magazine who is celebrating their 10th anniversary coinciding with the launch of the Montreal Grand Prix. The fancy party is at the elegant Bar George of the Mount Stephen Hotel.
A dress code is in effect for the soiree where guests are expected to be chic and fashionable. The event will host a networking VIP cocktail party with a wide range of top designers, business class, artists, and sports personalities at the historic hotel.

Fringe Fest
Montreal’s Fringe Festival is a reflection of the city’s love of the arts and rewards its patrons by offering every show for only $10. Today’s showcase is a dramatic play called Lucky.
Lucky explores the painful stereotypes of Asians being the model minority and its consequences. It is a dramatic and emotional piece in a small seated and intimate setting.
The play is directed by Sophie Gee who directed last summer’s Fringe hit, Pluck’d which was later reworked as part of Centaur Theatre’s WildSide Festival. Have some tissues on hand for this one.

Free Biosphere
In celebration of Environment Week, the Biosphere is offering free admission to everybody. The Biosphere has a bunch of interactive exhibitions which are aimed at increasing the understanding of major environmental issues related to air, water, biodiversity, climate change, and sustainable development. Definitely worthy of a checkout.

Shane Murphy at Honey Martin Pub
Shane Murphy is one of the best musicians in Montreal. He’s appeared at Jazz Fest and Osheaga and does his regular Wednesday gig every week at Honey Pub in NDG. He’s silky smooth on the guitar and has a soothing and hip voice. He plays covers and original pieces, considering it’s free entrance to watch him – it’s an absolute steal.
