From an international music festival to one of Mozart’s most beloved operas, here is everything you need on your social calendar today.

Mundial Montreal

What: Described as “the gateway to North America’s world music market,” Mundial Montreal will be taking place from November 15th to 18th. The theme of this year’s festival is Music Without Borders, and as such it will showcase music from all over the world. Mundial Montreal kicks off with 10 international acts including 9Bach, Solo & Rafael, and Coreyah. There will also be a special Aboriginal Sound Series featuring an eclectic range of Canadian music such as Betty Bonifassi, Wesli, Zuze, and Afrotronix.

Don Giovanni Opera

What: “Leave the women alone? You’re mad! Leave the women alone? You know that they are more necessary than the bread I eat! Than the air I breathe!” (Act 2, Scene 1) This pretty much sums up the dramatic and exhilarating ride of comedy, seriousness, darkness, light, serenity, and violence that you will get at Mozart’s masterpiece.

Essentrics Yoga Class

What: Try a new workout courtesy of Lole Montreal. Essentrics is a mixture of yoga, tai chi, dance, pilates, and physiotherapy techniques. It will lengthen muscles, release tension, and create a lean and toned body. The event will take place at Lole’s store on Sainte Catherine. While the session is free, be sure to reserve a spot in advance.

H2O Canada Photography Exhibit

What: Presented by Hera Bell, H2O Canada is a photographic journey of Canada’s water sources in all their forms. Known for her edgy photos, Bell’s exhibit will be featured all month long at the Centaur Theatre. Head on over to this free art installation and marvel at Canada’s natural beauty.

Future Memories Exhibition at the HTMLLES Festival

What: Future Memories is a unique exhibition reflecting on technology as a narrative and shared space. Lead by four artists, this interactive exhibit will feature different forms of media to demonstrate what separates the private from the public. The event is part of the HTMLLS festival and will be running from November 5th until December 4th.
