5 things to do in Montreal today: Monday, February 24

Feb 24 2020, 1:00 pm

Here are five things worth checking out across Montreal today February 24, as the month kicks off its final workweek.

The International Food Festival 2020

What: A spread of different food from local restaurants and McGill’s cultural society as well as some musical guests are touching down at the Thomson House today.

When: Monday, February 24
Time: 5 – 8 pm
Where: Thomson House, 3650 Mc Tavish Street
Price: $15 – $20

$5 Comedy Show – The Comedy Nest

What: The Nest hosts their “Monday Mix” on – you guessed it – Mondays and this week’s show features Randy Komi, Quinn Lague, Zak Kik, improv by The Explainers, and musical comedy from Kate Hammer and Peter Hartman.

Starting off your week with some laughs might be a wise choice.

When: Monday, February 24
Time: 8 pm
Where: The Comedy Nest
Price: $5

Dollar Cinema

What: Dollar Cinema is an absolute gem of a find. They show second-run movies at a two-screen venue (only in English). It’s great for a date or for people who want to watch a relatively new movie on the big screen instead of Netflix. They’re currently highlighted by Uncut Gems, The Two Popes, The Irishman, Marriage Story, The Lion King, Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood, and The Addams Family to name a few, but check out the website for complete listing.

Oh yeah, snacks are $1.

When: Monday, February 24
Time: Varies per selection
Where: 6900 Boulevard Decarie, Côte Saint-Luc
Price: $2.50 general admission

Journey to Space

What: How do astronauts do it? We know where they do it but like, how do they wash up at the end of shift? How do they get into and out of those bulky suits?

Embark on Journey to Space at the Montreal Science Center and learn all about the day-to-day lives of astronauts in a new interactive exhibition filled with experiences that are — you guessed it — out of this world.

When: Monday, February 24
Time: 9 am to 4 pm
Where:
Montreal Science Center, Old Montreal
Price:$12 – $23, available online

Atrium Le 1000

What: If the weather is too cold or snoowy today but you feel like hitting the ice, check out Atrium Le 1000, an indoor ice rink located inside Montreal’s tallest building.

The Atrium has a glass ceiling, perfect to be part of the weather without actually being part of it.

Plus, the skating rink plays music so you can glide to some tunes.

You can bring your own skates or rent equipment on site.

When: Monday, February 24
Time: 11:30 am to 9 pm
Where: 1000 Rue de la Gauchetière Ouest
Price: $8.26
