Montreal comedians performing virtual stand up show on social media tomorrow

A worldwide lockdown-inducing pandemic isn’t about to stop comedians from bringing the laughs.

And we could all use some laughter right about now.

Comedian Tyler Lemco is hosting a stand up comedy night on Tuesday. Just not in stand up’s traditional fashion.

Instagram Live will be the stage and Lemco will be inviting comics to his split-screen virtual platform for the stream, where comics will be performing from the comfort of their own home.

The streaming platform will have a comment section where ‘audience members’ can literally bring the “lols.”

“One by one, I’ll introduce a comic, have them join my stream and let them go for 5 minutes,” Lemco tells Daily Hive. “After each set, I’ll come back and introduce the next act. It’s definitely going to be weird but the comment section will be active and engaging.”

The virtual lineup includes a bevy of funny local veteran acts including the likes of Walter J. Lyng, Lawrence Corber, Elspeth Wright, Serag Meletian, as well as Adrienne Airhart and Everett Byram all the virtual way from Los Angeles.

If all goes well, Lemco says the beauty of the online format allows him to book comedians “from all over the world.”

Non-physical doors for volume one of “Fun Quarantimes” open at 6:45 pm and the show kicks off at 7 pm on Lemco’s Instagram page.

If you’ve ever wanted to watch a stand up comedy show and not wear pants, here’s your chance. Plus, there’s no drink minimum from the comfort of your own home.
