Canadiens defenceman surprises girlfriend with lakeside proposal (VIDEO)

Montreal Canadiens defenceman Victor Mete scored a beauty on Monday night.

The 22-year-old defenceman proposed to his long-term girlfriend Courtney Petrachek at Ontario’s Lake Joseph.

“She said yes!” reads Mete’s Instagram account.

According to Petrachek, Mete proposed in front of both families at their “favourite place in the entire world.”

According to Mete’s social media accounts, this isn’t the first time the 2016 NHL draftee surprised Petrachek. She also said yes to a surprise request to go to prom with him in 2016.

The couple has been dating since 2012.
