Montreal Canadiens announce final roster to start 2020-21 season
The final cuts have been made and the Montreal Canadiens are ready to play, as the team finalized its final roster to begin the 2020-21 season.

The final roster includes 12 forwards, seven defencemen, and two goaltenders. In addition, five players have been named to the taxi squad — a group of players kept in reserve due to the pandemic.

Forwards Michael Frolik, Corey Perry, Ryan Poehling, defenseman Cale Fleury and goaltender Charlie Lindgren will make up the Habs taxi squad to start the season, and were final cuts for the team.
Fifteen players were sent to the AHL’s Laval Rocket: Brandon Baddock, Alex Belzile, Joseph Blandisi, Laurent Dauphin, Vasili Demchenko, Otto Leskinen, Jacob Lucchini, Kevin Lynch, Michael McNiven, Gustav Olofsson, Xavier Ouellet, Cayden Primeau, Joel Teasdale, Lukas Vejdemo, and Jordan Weal.
The Canadiens open the season on Wednesday January 13 on the road against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 pm ET on Sportsnet and TVA Sports.
