13 places to meet Santa in Montreal

Santa has arrived in Montreal.

And you know what that means, it’s Christmas card season. Whether you’re a college student or a parent, you know that visiting Santa at Christmastime is a must.

Luckily, you won’t have to travel to the North Pole because Santa is making appearances all over the city throughout the month of December. Sometimes he will even be in two places at once (we won’t tell the kids if you won’t).

Visit with Santa

Meet Santa and have your picture taken with him at Carrefour Laval every day between 9am and 4:30pm. All proceeds go towards The Children’s Wish Foundation.

Family Christmas Celebration

A free Christmas event is going down at the Verdun Cultural Centre. Bring your kids and prepare for a day of fun, featuring a live show, visit with Santa, face painting, prizes, and a holiday movie. Admission is free and the event is happening from 2pm until 9pm.

Christmas Party

For children 12 years and under, Le Petit Gym invites you for a night of gymnastics activities, visits from Santa, hot chocolate, and gifts. Cost is $12 per person and the event takes place on one day only between 1pm and 2:30pm or 3pm and 4:30pm.

Santa Visits

Santa has touched down at Galeries d’Anjou. Meet the big guy and have your photo taken just in time for Christmas Day. Visits are free, though photos will cost money however all proceeds go towards The Children’s Wish Foundation.

Festival Noel Dans Le Parc

Three Montreal parks will be turned into a holiday paradise this December thanks to Festival Noels Dans Le Parc. Taking place from December 1st until Christmas Day, each of the three participating parks will be filled with holiday activities like marshmallow roasting, bonfires, gift stands, Christmas tree stands, and of course, weekend Santa-sightings.

Santa’s Kingdom

Santa is back at Complexe Desjardins this Christmas! Head on over this downtown mall and marvel at Santa, his elves, and of course the grand carousel going round and round. While meet Santa or going on a carousel ride will set you back $2, being in the vicinity and watching the fun is enough to spread Christmas cheer.

Christmas Fun

Head to Les Jardins Dorval for the ultimate Santa experience. There will be holiday-themed workshops, face painting, a Christmas train, and the opportunity to meet the man in the big red suit.

Visit with Santa

Santa has returned from the North Pole. Meet him while you can, at Fairview Mall in Pointe Claire. It is recommended to book a time slot in advance online.

Merry Montreal

Head to Old Port this holiday season and enjoy a slew of free activities, ranging from a New Year’s Eve party to outdoor yoga. Stroll through the market, set up in Place Jacques Cartier, and you’ll find gourmet food, warm drinks, artisanal crafts, and local art. If you’re a movie buff, be sure to attend the Outdoor Holiday Cinema in which festive family films will be screened. Finally, if it’s a Santa sighting you’re after, Mr. Claus will be dropping in to Old Montreal every Saturday and Sunday from 1pm to 5pm.

Marché de Noël et des Traditions de Longueuil

Don’t miss out on this bilingual event that invites families to take a ride on the North Pole train and visit with Santa Claus. Admission is free and the festivities will be taking place every Saturday and Sunday between 11am and 5pm.

Holiday Celebration

Head to Montreal’s park for some family fun featuring a meet and greet with Santa Claus. This bilingual event is happening on December 10th from 10am until 4pm, and will include horse-drawn wagon rides, carolers, and a visit from Santa and his elves (noon to 4pm).

Pyjama Storytime with Santa

A pajama party with Santa? Sounds pretty great to us. That is exactly what the Kirkland Library is hosting on December 16th. From 6pm until 7pm, the library invites children of all ages to dress in their fuzziest flannel pjs and come listen to some special Christmas stories. Santa will be stopping by, dropping off a few gifts, and eating cookies with the kids.
