6 legendary spots now offering delivery that every Montrealer should try

Sep 23 2020, 2:30 pm

With so many legendary spots to sample around the city, it can be especially tempting to trade in the food prep and dishes for a bite from your favourite restaurant — or, better yet, from somewhere you’ve always wanted to try.

For the first time, Skip is offering delivery from some of Montreal’s most legendary spots. Besides the bragging rights that come with being the first one in your circle to discover a new favourite, you can also take advantage of free delivery with a minimum order until October 18, exclusively available using Skip’s app or website.

To celebrate, we’ve highlighted some of our favourite eats from these newly available, iconic restaurants.

Saint Sushi

A foodie blog favourite, Saint Sushi has already won the hearts of many Montrealers and rightfully finds its place among the city’s new local legends available for delivery. Here you’ll find maki rolls with spicy mayo, apple, and yogurt for an unexpectedly delicious take on sushi fusion.

Adorably, many of the menu items are celebrity-inspired, like the Maki Bob Marley salmon-tuna roll, or the Maki Tupac, a tasty shrimp roll featuring tempura, yogurt, and mushrooms.

Many will recognize this famous spot from its iconic blue and white facade on Avenue Duluth. You’ve also probably heard that this Mediterranean spot offers up some of the most authentic Greek cuisine in the city.

Think fresh tzatziki, grape vine spanakopita, classic chicken brochettes, fried calamari, and loads of crumbly feta.

Ye Olde Orchard

In the mood for some epic pub grub? Look no further than this Montreal institution to create your own pub night from home.

Burger lovers will want to opt for the Swiss cheese, bacon, and jalapeno pepper–topped Ye Olde Orchard Burger. Other favourites include the Bangers, with sausages, veggies, and fries — their take on a Celtic classic. Perhaps what sets them apart most is the full Sri Lankan menu, starring a plethora of yummy curries.

Sumac

Grilled pita, creamy baba ganoush, garlic labneh, pickled turnip, and chicken shawarma still warm from the spit are just a few of the mouthwatering menu items you’ll find on offer at this Lebanese locale.

Make it a family affair with one of their family style falafel, beef kefta, and chicken shawarma platters loaded with nutty tahini sauce.

Sumo Ramen

A comfort food staple, don’t be surprised if this ramen joint quickly rises to the top brass of your list of takeout favourites.

With the best miso broth around, each ramen dish is topped with seaweed, bean sprouts, green onion, and half a marinated egg. If you’re looking for something a little different, give the Beef Stew Ramen or Leek and Pork Belly Ramen a try.

Tripolis

Another greek spot worthy of praise is Montreal’s longstanding Tripolis Restaurant. Here you’ll find authentic dishes like dolmadakia, saganaki (think hot cheese), eggplant salad, chicken and pork souvlaki, lambchops, and Greek sweetbreads.

All that’s left to do once you’ve placed your order is crack open a bottle of wine, close your eyes, and imagine you’re sipping by the Mediterranean.

Get free delivery with a minimum order from these local legends (and every single restaurant in the city) on Skip until October 18.
