Evening history tours are coming to Lachine next September.

Dubbed “Historical Nights,” the city of Montreal is funding yet another historical project in light of its 375th anniversary.

The hour long tours will be free to the public and will cover the rich history of the Lachine Canal going back over three centuries.

Beginning September 16, 2017, selected tour guides will dress up in period garb and host Montrealers for an evening of exploration. Lit by lantern only, the guide will take participants through 350 years of history along the Canal, stopping at heritage sites and important streets along the way.

The tours will be happening on Boulevard Saint Joseph, and while tickets aren’t available yet, they likely will be soon.
