Founded on June 15, 2014, La Diperie is quickly becoming one of the hottest ice cream spots in Montreal. Their simple recipe and scrumptious homemade toppings make for an unbelievable ice cream experience. If you stop by La Diperie this summer, we’ve got the lowdown on what to expect.
First off, if you’re not a fan of vanilla ice cream then La Diperie may not be for you. Every one of their fantastic cone combinations is made with a base of vanilla soft serve ice cream. That means that no matter what toppings you order, there will be a mound of deliciously creamy vanilla ice cream underneath it.
Since you don’t have to make a decision as to what flavour of ice cream you’re in the mood for, you can immediately begin the process of deciding which toppings and “dips” you want your ice cream to be slathered in.
Toppings are subject to change based on the location and the month, but past combinations have included the following:
Cocofolie: Coconut sugar and dark chocolate
L’apres-Match: Crumbled pretzels, caramel, and dark chocolate
Aqua’s Cheesecake: Raspberry cheesecake and maple pecans
Le Tex-Mex: Spiced dark chocolate with crumbled tortillas
Becky’s Fave: Dark chocolate ginger and pistachios
Madelaine’s Oreo: Oreo dip and crumbled Oreos

There are currently three La Diperie locations in Canada. The first is right here in the Plateau, the second is outside of Montreal in Coaticook, Quebec, and the final location just opened earlier this week on Danforth Avenue in downtown Toronto.
