Monday, May 14, 2018, acted as another reason for people to celebrate their favourite Canadian city (or favourite city in the entire world, for that matter).
Unofficially dubbed as 514 Day or Journée 514 (aka, the city’s original area code), people around the world took to social media to share why they love Montreal.
So here’s some love to everyone’s favourite city and just what makes it so spectacular.

Been a few years since I’ve been there, but what I love about Montreal is it’s multiple languages, great food, the mix of old and new Montreal, and it has the greatest hockey franchise #Journée514Day pic.twitter.com/ontcL7JJvw

I can’t stress enough how much I love this city! It’s where I was born and it’s where I’ll die when the time comes! The fact that I’m not spending summer here this year makes me really sad! There’s no place like home! There’s no place like Montréal!❤❤#MTLday #Journée514Day pic.twitter.com/upVt1otD7T

@CanadiensMTL – I live 45 mins from Toronto would prefer to drive 5.5 hrs to Montreal for just about anything. More beatiful city, culture, nicer people. And of course the best NHL team. ❤ my Habs. #Journee514Day

With plenty of reasons and a number of locals and visitors who love the city (and in most cases, miss it dearly), it only continues to make Montreal that much more magical.
…and I’m homesick #Journée514Day
