The good news: Igloofest is returning this winter.

The even better news: you won’t be freezing your toes off while attending it.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the popular outdoor music festival is going indoors and virtual, from January 14 to February 6, 2021.

According to the EDM festival’s website, in anticipation of celebrating its 15th anniversary, Igloofest has added a word to its mantra, now proclaiming it is the “coldest virtual electronic music festival in the world.”

The official lineup has yet to be announced, but the festival says artist details will be “revealed soon.”

“We will be there, of course, but not quite in our usual form,” says Igloofest’s press release. “This year, your favourite winter festival will be presented in a coco friendly and well-distanced mode.”

Find some old vintage snowsuits, a tuque, and make sure the internet connection is fast because Igloofest says, “We plan to make you dance to the best beats. We’ve already forecasted that Igloofest is going to be wild!”

Traditionally, Igloofest unites thousands of electronic music fans to dance under the stars at Montreal’s Old Port. Decked out in igloo-like and glacial décor, its programming attracts some of the best local and international DJs for a week of dancing, freezing, and EDM music.

Igloofest has also unveiled a new edition of merch, featuring their new socks, made in partnership with Robin des bas. For every sock order purchased, Igloofest will donate one pair to the Accueil Bonneau homeless shelter.

We’ll keep you posted when more Igloofest 2021 news is unveiled.
