Gwyneth Paltrow visits Canadian island, calls it heaven

It’s not exactly a quick weekend trip from Montreal, but it’s definitely doable.

Fogo Island, Newfoundland and Labrador is home to roughly 2,500 people, rocky shores, a cool climate, and one of the best hotels/resorts in Canada.

In fact, last week Travel + Leisure named Fogo Island Inn as one of the 100 best hotels in the entire world.

As if that wasn’t a good enough week for the island and the hotel, Hollywood A-lister Gwyneth Paltrow spent time on Fogo Island over the weekend and uploaded a few pictures of her time spent there complete with the hashtag #heaven.

And who could blame her:

It’s unclear whether or not Paltrow was staying at Fogo Island Inn but it’s not exactly the type of island you visit only to not stay at the Inn. Especially if you’ve got the money to handle the minimum $1,175 per night price tag.

Cycling, rowing in the ocean, whale watching from shore, kayaking, iceberg watching, swimming, hiking, caribou watching – the list of activities on Fogo Island is both endless and awe-inspiring.

Even if we have to share it with Gwyneth, Fogo Island is definitely near the top of our Canadian travel bucketlist.

A pair of lookers in each room makes spotting icebergs and puffins up close that much easier. #lookers #binoculars #goremote
