Environment Canada issues freezing rain warning for Montreal

Nov 19 2019, 1:37 pm

Montreal and its surrounding areas could see up to to 5 millimetres of freezing rain throughout the morning.

Environment Canada has issued a warning, stating that “surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots will become icy, slippery and hazardous. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.”

The weather agency says freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.

This morning’s rainfall, coupled with “feels like” temperatures of -4ºC, could cause for dangerous weather conditions.
