Here's where you can park for FREE during snow removal in Montreal
Driving when it’s snowing in Montreal can be disastrous but trying to find a free parking spot is even worse.
To make things a little less stressful, the City of Montreal is offering residents with 2,158 free overnight parking spots during snow removal in 21 designated areas.
“With this alternative parking offer, we want to help citizens park their cars at night to facilitate snow removal and snow loading operations,” explained Charles Auger, general manager of Stationnement de MontrĂ©al.
The rules are simple: As soon as the city of Montreal orders the loading of snow, residents can park their vehicles for free in any of the designated parking lots (listed below) as of 9 pm.
They must be sure to park only in designated spaces, avoiding areas reserved for permit holders. They must also remove their vehicles from the parking lots by 7 am the following day, when regular parking operations will resume.
