The Lachine Canal area near the Atwater Market is one of the busiest and most picturesque in Montreal, especially in the summer.
From people setting up picnics by the water, to avid cyclists cruising around the canal taking in the gorgeous views, this is our version of Canal Saint Martin in Paris.
And soon you’ll be able to cruise up and down the canal in style on a brand new floating café! That’s right, the Canal Lounge, Montreal’s first floating café, is set to open soon (follow them on Facebook for updates).
The 45 year-old boat offers a menu of yummy sandwiches, salads, coffee, and a complete bar during the day. At night, the boat takes it up a notch by creating lighting and music that will turn this floating beauty into a sleek lounge.
Take a look at the gorgeous pictures below and start getting excited for this new summertime addition to our city.
