What better way to celebrate Montreal’s 375th birthday than with spontaneous choreographed dance?
As if the Montreal Museum of Contemporary Art’s homage to Leonard Cohen, Mount Royal’s majestic light installation, and the Royal de Luxe’s marionettes weren’t enough, “Flashmob in your neighbourhood” is yet another special event scheduled for 2017.
Flash mobs will be taking over the city next spring between May 6th and June 2nd. Every Friday between these dates, a flash mob will perform at various historical places in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve.
Who exactly will be involved in these flash mobs, you may ask? Well since it’s for a major celebration, not just anyone will be dancing the night away. Montreal’s premiere dancing troupe, Prime Danse, will be starring in each choreographed event.
The events are for kids and adults alike, and special prizes will be drawn each week.
