Everything you need to know about Pride Montreal 2016

Jul 18 2016, 11:34 pm

Pride Montreal is back for another year of colourful festivities. Beginning on August 8th and culminating with the Montreal Pride Parade on August 14th, this year’s Pride events have some amazing stuff in store!

The 2016 theme is “Our Flag, Our Nature: Green,” which means you can expect the floats in this year’s parade to be green in theme. The parade is scheduled to begin at 1 pm on the corner of Saint Mathieu. From there it will travel east on Rene Levesque Boulevard, finishing at Sanguinet Street.

Furthermore, Montreal Pride will be giving out several special awards to the best floats in the parade. With awards like best costume and make-up and most crowd-pleasing float up for grabs, you can expect some seriously awesome floats.

After the parade, the crowds are invited to march to Place Emilie-Gamelin for a massive dance party. Mega T-Dance kicks off at 1 pm and runs until 11 pm, featuring DJs Marina, Chus + Ceballos, and Alan Jackinsky.

If you’re unable to make the parade, rest assured, Pride Montreal has got some great LGBTQ-themed events planned all week long. From 9 am until 11 pm daily, you can attend anything from a rooftop barbecue to a Drag Superstars show – Pride week is full of surprises!
