3 of the 10 best new restaurants in Canada are in Montreal

Oct 25 2016, 11:12 pm

Canada’s award-winning inflight magazine, Air Canada enRoute, just announced the Top 10 list for their 15th annual Best New Restaurants awards and Montreal scored pretty damn good!

“The top restaurants in our 2016 ranking are influenced by community, and they create an experience that diners can really become a part of,” said Jean-François Légaré, editor-in-chief, Air Canada enRoute.

The top 10 restaurants were chosen by award-winning food writer Andrew Braithwaite who went on a month-long eating marathon across Canada to sample the best of what our fair country had to offer. Tough life.

Montreal highlights from the 3 winners include chefs chopping their own wood and cooking over live fire at Foxy, the return of a surprising and delightful tasting menu at the cozy Le Fantôme, terroir-driven cocktails at the unique Agrikol, and a team behind Kraken Cru raw bar that combine seafood expertise and a sense of a humour.

The Top 10 restaurants will be awarded at the annual Canada’s Best New Restaurants Gala celebration-taking place at Toronto’s Design Exchange on November 10th.
