Now Open: Emiliano’s brings original Mexican cuisine to Old Montreal

Things are getting spicy in the Old Port!

Restaurant Emiliano’s recently opened its doors offering authentic and original Mexican cuisine.

The name Emiliano’s was inspired by Don Emiliano Zapata, the son of a family of peasants that became the head of the Mexican Revolution in the southern part of the country. He also inspired the restaurant to change the perception of Mexican food, showcasing that there is more to Mexican cuisine than just tacos.

The vast dinner menu, which is best- experienced family-style, offers an assortment of tacos, quesadillas, tamales, enchiladas, meat and whole fish dishes, ceviches, guacamoles and much more.

The authenticity behind the menu was created by Executive Chef, Carlos Flores – from Mexico City, and, his sous-chef Ariel Canto – from Merida, Yucatan who employ traditional flavours, cooking techniques and presentations unique to their respective hometowns.

The restaurant also has an impressive list of over twenty-five types of tequilas and eight types of mezcals, selected by the owners.

The restaurant is open 6 days a week (Monday to Saturday), with a table d’hôte lunch menu offered during the weekdays, Thursday and Friday “Mexican-style” 5à7s featuring $1.50 oysters with Mexican mignonette and garnish, and a dinner menu featuring an impressive variety of authentic Mexican dishes – promising a night to remember!

The space is splashed with colorful orange accents against classic black-and-white walls and lively Spanish music. With high ceilings and an open-concept kitchen, customers can enjoy watching all the action happen.
