This popular food delivery app is launching in Montreal today

Starting Wednesday, Montrealers can start ordering grub from DoorDash, a popular food delivery app that lets users order meals to their door from hundreds of nearby restaurants.

This is the first time that DoorDash has expanded its product to serve customers, merchants, and Dashers in a language beyond English, as the app and service is now fully accessible in French.

The company says it’s Montreal launch come with roughly 300 local restaurants across the following nine neighbourhoods on the island:

  • Ahuntsic
  • Cartierville
  • CĂ´te-des-Neiges
  • DĂ©carie
  • Lachine
  • Monkland
  • NDG
  • TMR
  • Westmount
  • Ville Saint-Laurent

Some local eateries include: Boustan, Cacao 70, Mon Ami, Notre-Boeuf-de-Grâce, Abe & Mary’s. and Poulet Rouge.

So yes, you can order a Boustan shawarma right to your door.,

To celebrate DoorDash’s expansion to Montreal, the company is dishing out prizes every day for the first 25 days. Individuals can win DoorDash gift cards, Montreal Canadiens home opener tickets, and airline credits.

“Montreal has an amazing food scene, one of the best in Canada if not the world,” Brent Seals DoorDash’s country director of Canada, tells Daily Hive. “We’re now in 78 cities across seven provinces in Canada and we pride ourselves on having the best selection available for our customers.”

DoorDash, which has new corporate offices in Place Ville Marie and a “Dash centre” in Ville St-Laurent is also hiring Dashers who can “enjoy flexible work opportunities,” according to Seals.

“Customers can track their food delivery from every step of the way, from when the cooks start cooking, to when it gets to the Dasher, up until it arrives,” continued Seals. “We’ve invested a lot of time translating everything to French and building our team here. We’re very excited for Montreal to be our first beyond English network.”

DoorDash is now available seven days a week from 11 am to 10 pm through the company’s app. “As we continue to grow our Montreal coverage,” concluded Seals, “the hours and network will continue to expand.”
