Cue the cocktail confetti! The Diageo World Class is shaking things up in Toronto this fall with a global final — and it’s kind of a big deal.
It’s the world’s most prestigious cocktail competition, where bartending legends from over 50 countries will battle it out for the crown of World Class Bartender of the Year. Think of it as the Oscars of mixology… but with way more garnishes.
But before the big finale takes over Toronto, the World Class Cocktail Festival is going cross-country — and it’s making a much-anticipated stop right here in Montreal on Sept. 25 and Sept. 26.
Global talent meets local legends
For two delicious nights, some of the world’s most skilled bartenders will be serving up next-level concoctions and a masterclass in hospitality along the way.
It kicks off at Le French Line on Thursday, Sept. 25, when Canadian host James Grant and guest bartender David Rios will work their magic. Then, on Friday, Sept. 26, Rios will return alongside host Kate Bouschel at Milky Way Cocktail Bar.
It’s more than just sipping fancy drinks (though you’ll definitely be doing that too). It’s about celebrating the people behind the bar who make our nights out so memorable.
A toast to the future of cocktail culture
For 16 years, World Class has been championing bartenders and pushing the boundaries of cocktail culture, and these Montreal events are your chance to see the magic up close.
Expect bold new flavours, jaw-dropping techniques, and a healthy pour of creativity. Plus, it features Diageo’s world-renowned spirits like Johnnie Walker, Don Julio Tequila, Ketel One, and Tanqueray Gin.
Basically, it’s like getting a sneak peek at the future of cocktails — which clearly, is going to be delicious.
So grab your cocktail crew, claim your spot at the bar, and raise a glass to our local hospitality heroes. Because for two nights only, Montreal is the place to be if you like your evenings shaken, stirred, and sprinkled with a little bit of stardust.
