Here is the collection schedule for Christmas trees in Montreal

Say goodbye to the sweet smell of pine, those Christmas trees are headed to the curb.

Seeing half-dead trees strewn across the cement is not exactly a morning pick-me-up.

Luckily, the city of Montreal makes it easy for you. Rather than disposing of it yourself, all you have to do is lug it outside the house and leave it at the bottom of your driveway.

That being said, you can’t just do this any old day. The city has designated specific “Christmas Tree Recycling” days in the New Year.

Though it does vary depending on the borough, the main two days for Christmas tree collection are January 4, 2017 and January 11, 2017.

The exceptions?

Outremont: January 9

Sud-Ouest: January 6 and 13

Saint Leonard: January 9 and 16

Before lugging your tree out the door, remember to abide by the city’s Christmas tree disposal rules. Namely, do not wrap the tree in plastic and do not block the sidewalk.
