Inside Barley: Montreal's first ever cereal bar (PHOTOS)
Did your Mom let you eat sugary cereals as a kid?
Whether trying to relive a taste of your youth or finally tasting the forbidden Froot Loops you were once denied, Montreal has a new spot to indulge all your nostalgic cravings.
Barley, from owner Soufian Mamlouk, is home to 200+ brands and variations of boxed cereals ranging from rare and interesting imports to seasonal specialties.
Located in Little Burgundy at the corner of Charlevoix and Notre-Dame streets, the cafe offers a calm setting outfitted with comfy banquets and is swathed in neutral tones.
Behind the bar, dispensers filled with an array of brightly coloured breakfast cereals stands out as a focal point.
The menu here revolves around morning essentials including espresso-based beverages and of course, cereal.
Prices start around $8 per bowl and can be had with milk, ice cream or blended into smoothies turning the morning meal into all-day, munchie-satisfying fare.
Looking for a more sensible start to your day? Organic granola with yogurt and mix-ins like dried fruits and nuts are available too.
