LaRonde reopens for the summer this weekend in Montreal

Montrealers don’t need more reasons to be excited for summer but hey, why not?

After announcing pre-season ticket deals last month, LaRonde is set to open up for its 51st season on Saturday, May 20 at 10:30 am.

The massive amusement park is back for thrill-seekers and families to enjoy. Head to the newly altered Tourbillon with the family to warm up and then test your bravery on the 52-foot Goliath for an intense drop that’ll have you screaming.

The park is known for its famous Le Monstre, built in 1985, its creaky sounds and wooden frame makes you feel like you shouldn’t be riding it. It’s in reality absolutely safe. The ride is the highest double-track roller coaster in the world is worth the price of admission alone.

Newer rides include the ever-popular, Ednör, for those who like to be tossed upside down, the Démon, for riders seeking a 360° turn, and the Titan, which spins at 112 km/h, a whopping 147 feet in the air.

Whoa.

Take a break with some cotton candy and mini-games before taking the little ones to the newly expanded Splash area and Ribambelle’s Land which hosts over ten rides for the kids to enjoy.

It could also be beneficial to check out the Flash Pass which automatically holds your place in line so you can enjoy the park without waiting – it’s like being in two places at once.

Additional parking spaces have been added near the entrance and behind the park.

Park-goers wishing to travel to LaRonde without a vehicle are welcome to store their bicycles at the bike racks provided.

A picnic area is located just outside of the park for people and families who desire to bring their own meals.
