A holiday festival is taking over Place Jacques Cartier this December

The 2016 edition of Merry Montreal is returning to Old Port this December.

Held annually in Place Jacques Cartier, Merry Montreal is the ultimate holiday festival. Comprised of an outdoor Christmas market, New Year’s fireworks, movies under the stars, and a whole slew of free activities, there is almost nowhere more festive in Montreal.

Channeling a European-style Christmas market, Merry Montreal’s market will feature warm apple cider, hot chocolate, maple products, Christmas cookies, French macarons, and cute gifts for the whole family.

Other activities include a gift race, in which participants can search for holiday goodies that have been hidden around Old Port, an open-air cinema playing family-friendly classics throughout the month, and cool yoga, where Montrealers are invited to an outdoor yoga session (snowsuits required).

This year, the festival will take place during the month of December, so be sure to head to Old Port between December 1st and December 31st!
