The world’s first-of-its-kind underwater hotel just opened in the Maldives

Move over, overwater bungalows – there’s a new underwater bungalow in town.

A new luxury residence in the Maldives has opened up that you may want to start saving your pennies for.

THE MURAKA at Conrad Maldives Rangali Island is an experience like no other. Built to 15 feet below the Indian Ocean surface, this two-storey villa includes a private gym, bar, and infinity pool (thank goodness, we were worried it would just be a regular pool).

The overwater portion includes a relaxation deck for catching those sun rays, and the underwater floor includes the bedroom, living space, and bathroom where you can, well, brush your teeth while looking at manta rays. Basically just rays all around.

So how much will this dreamy experience set you back?

A casual $50,000 a night, but don’t rush to break open your piggy bank quite yet – the minimum booking is four nights, so in total you’re looking at a $200,000 package at the very least.

But just in case you thought you wouldn’t get the most bang for your buck, rest assured that the package also includes a personal chef and use of a private boat. One would hope, amiright?!

The MURAKA is connected to the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island by a long jetty, where golf carts shuttle supplies and staff to the oceanic oasis.
