Let’s face it. Times are stressful right now.

We could all use a helpful unwinding activity to transport us to our happy place.

Although their Zen Center is currently closed due to COVID-19, San Antonio Zoo is now livestreaming yoga sessions conducted by certified instructor Heather Love.

The program, aptly named Zen Zoo, allows viewers to engage in the practice of yoga while also observing the diverse collection of animal residents that occupy the facility.

Love guides viewers through simple poses and exercises that are suitable to all skill levels and conducts her classes in front of various enclosures around the zoo, allowing users to enjoy the views of bears, birds, lions, and other creatures.

Animal yoga is not the only initiative that the San Antonio Zoo has going on to keep fans engaged while their doors are temporarily closed.

The facility also conducts daily educational livestreams on their social media channels and encourages users to create homemade zoos in their yards and post them with the hashtag #FrontYardZoo.

The zoo is also no stranger to unique and interesting activities.

Last Valentine’s Day, San Antonio Zoo hosted its first-ever “Cry Me a Cockroach” event in which people could pay $5 to have a cockroach named after their ex and served to one of their animals.

If you’re looking for a fun and creative way to unwind, venture over to the San Antonio Zoo’s website, Facebook or YouTube channel to engage in a unique yoga practice with some of the facility’s wonderful animal residents.
