This Mediterranean island will refund your stay if it rains too much

Anyone who has ever been rained out on vacation knows the struggle is all too real.

We make the most of every vacation, but there’s no denying that rain will put a damper on your experience. (Get it? Damp-er?)

An island in Italy has felt our woes and is doing what every place in the whole world needs to do, as far as we’re concerned — they are refunding your stay if it rains too much.

During the month of May, the island of Elba has launched an initiative called “Elba No Rain.” If it rains for more than two hours between 10 am and 8 pm, participating hostels and hotels will void the cost of the customer’s overnight stay.

Located off the coast of Tuscany, Elba is known for its beautiful Mediterranean beaches, excellent seafood, and rich cultural history — Napoleon was exiled here in 1814-1815. The island doesn’t see much rain anyway, but you can never be too sure, so best to take advantage of this offer rather than running the risk of a rain-soaked vacay.

“Elba No Rain” runs until May 31, so pack your bags, rain or shine!
