When it comes to travel must-haves, Canada has it all (sorry, we don’t mean to brag, or be politely apologetic).
There are few countries in the world that can boast our mix of epic landscapes, modern and heritage architecture, diverse cities, rich culture, and the ability to play every type of summer (and winter) sport you can imagine.
That’s why it’s no surprise that three Canadian cities made it into the top 10 on a 2018 global ranking of the most livable cities by the Economist Intelligence Unit. Peyto Lake, Banff

Banff National Park is home to some of the most spectacular glacier-fed lakes in the Canadian Rockies. Instagram is generally flooded with photos of Moraine Lake and Lake Louise, but Peyto is equally as stunning and generally less crowded to visit because it can be accessed from the Icefields Parkway from either Banff or Jasper. The views are best enjoyed during summer without freezing minus temperatures.

Niagara Falls, Ontario

You can take in vistas of the cascading falls from your hotel, the lower observation deck, right on the water on a cruise, or from the 520 ft. high Skylon Tower. Rest assured that the falls look majestic from every angle.

Saint-Louis Square, Quebec City

Our love affair with Quebec City runs deep and one visit here almost feels like a trip overseas to Europe. The city is rich in history and dates back to 1608. It sits on the Saint Lawrence River and with plenty of designated cycling areas, it’s easy to spend the day on your bike taking in the views around you. Stroll along narrow cobblestone streets, explore the local boutiques and restaurants and imagine what life was like in old Quebec.

Kathlyn Lake, Smithers

This small town in northwestern BC is approximately halfway between Prince Rupert and Prince George. If you’ve never heard of this beautiful area before, even better — now you’ve got the perfect reason to visit. Take head out kayaking on Kathlyn Lake or take on the trails at Hudson Bay Mountain and relish in the lush surroundings and tranquillity.

Peggys Cove, Nova Scotia

Coastal province Nova Scotia has a varied landscape with something for every amateur photographer, from the bright streets of Lunenburg to Halifax’ bustling waterfront. The province is home to over 150 lighthouses, but none as photographed as the one standing in the fishing village of Peggy’s Cove. The lighthouse dates back to 1915 and today, it continues to watch over working lobster boats and acts as the most idyllic background for your Instagram photos.
