A new full-length Lion King trailer is here, and it will make you smile, cry, laugh, and feel all the nostalgia over your fave childhood movie.
The trailer has been released 100 days before the movie’s premiere on July 19, 2019, and the trailer is also timed perfectly with National Wildlife Week, which runs April 7 to 13.
- 8 fascinating animals and where to find them in the wild
- The world’s wildlife population has fallen by 60% in the last 4 decades
- Everything you need to know about the ultimate bucket list experience: Gorilla trekking
- The heartbreaking scene from ‘Our Planet’ that has audiences shook
The remake looks to be an incredibly lifelike rendition of the original, bringing back the songs, characters, and scenes we all know and love.
The gang’s all back, with Simba looking as adorable as ever, the chemistry still palpable between him and Nala, Timon and Pumba back at their old shenanigans, Mufasa reigning the savannah, and Scar… well, we’ll get to him in a bit.
The new and improved Lion King is bringing the animal kingdom not only to our screens but to our senses, with an incredibly lifelike live-action presentation, and some familiar voices such as Donald Glover (Simba) and Beyoncé (Nala).

However, there is one thing that viewers can’t help but point out.
What is up with this new Scar!?
That’s not the scrawny, ominous, dark-featured lion that our inner child loves to hate!
