Everyone needs to go get a selfie at this BC alpaca farm this spring

Feb 26 2019, 8:02 am

Attention, anyone who has ever taken a selfie!… Yes, that’s you.

Your face is great and everything, but your Instagram feed is about to get a whole lot more adorable.

Located in Vernon, British Columbia, Camelot Haven Alpacas is home to a herd of adorable alpacas that are available for all the selfies, guided walks, wedding pictures, and even purchase, if you can fit one in your car (just take notes from this llama in the Peruvian Andes).

Thanks to Camelot Haven, you don’t need to go all the way to Peru to get that coveted #alpacaselfie (although you would be silly not to do that too, as evidenced by theseย nine epic bucket list experiences).

We know what you’re thinking: Don’t you mean #llamaselfie? What is the difference?

Here’s your random fact of the day: both llamas and alpacas belong to the camelid family and have long necks, hypoallergenic fur, and typically live in herds in high elevation areas. A good way to tell the difference is llamas have longer, upright ears, while alpacasโ€™ ears are shorter and laid back. Also, alpacas are way cuter and cuddlier — end of lesson.

The alpacas at Camelot Haven are raised and bred on the Okanagan farm, and their wellbeing is a top priority for their caretakers.

The Okanagan Valley is popular not only in the summer but also in the winter, and attracts visitors from all over due to its beautiful mountains, relaxed lake lifestyle, and of course, many wineries.

Wine tasting followed by an alpaca hangout? We can’t think of a better day.

Camelot Haven is open for appointments from May 12, 2019 to October 14, 2019 — so start planning your spring road trip now!

We will now leave you with a collection of adorable alpaca photos as inspo.
