Traditional Balinese food is an explosion of flavours with Chinese and Indian influences and usually features rice as a staple with fresh vegetables, meat and seafood. There are plenty of restaurants for local cuisine throughout Bali, and many tourists love to join a cooking class where they can try their hand at creating the local dishes.

Outside of the traditional eats, Bali has become such a melting pot of various cultures that there is no end to the options for international flavours throughout the island. No matter what you are craving, you can likely find it in Bali!

Here are a few of our favourite spots to grab some grub.

Is there anything better than wiggling your toes in the sand as you devour a plate of freshly grilled local seafood? Head down to the white sand beach of Pantai Muaya and take your pick out of dozens of beachfront cafes and restaurants offering freshly caught marine life for your pickin’. Many of the restaurants let you select your preferred creatures by weight and the chef will cook it up right there and deliver it to your table.
