Learn about new cannabis laws from industry experts in Vancouver this month

Nov 6 2018, 4:12 am

The National Institute for Cannabis Health and Education Canada (NICHE) is hosting a Cannabis & Our Community event in Vancouver this month.

The forum seeks to educate stakeholders from municipal government, work safety, health care, insurance, tourism, and others that will be impacted by legalization and its changing laws.

A confirmed representative from Health Canada will kick off the forum and address topics including an overview of the federal legal framework for cannabis, engagement with First Nations, Inuit and the Métis Nation, and community support through education, awareness, and compliance.

The full-day event will feature speakers from across the industry such as Gerald Thomas, Director, Alcohol Tobacco, Cannabis & Gambling Policy at British Columbia Ministry of Health, Cam Battley, Chief Corporate Officer, Aurora Cannabis Inc., and Robert Cullen, vice-mayor of King City.

Both an educational and networking opportunity, this forum is a must for anyone currently in the industry or looking to participate to get better informed about Canada’s upcoming legalized landscape.
