Sep 12 2018, 3:55 am

In preparation for legalization, the National Institute for Cannabis Health and Education Canada (NICHE) is hosting a Cannabis & Our Community series in various cities across the country.

The forum seeks to educate stakeholders from municipal government, work safety, health care, insurance, tourism, and others that will be impacted by the changing laws.

Eric Costen, Director General, Cannabis Legalization and Regulation Secretariat at Health Canada, is the keynote speaker and will address topics including the current legal framework from a federal perspective, engagement with First Nations, Inuit and the Métis Nation, and community support through education, awareness, and compliance.

The full-day event will feature speakers from across the industry such as Adam Miron, Co-Founder & Chief Brand Officer at HEXO, David Purcell, Director, Emerging Business at Kwantlen Polytechnic University, Jonathan Zaid, Director of Advocacy and Corporate Social Responsibility at Aurora Cannabis.
