Online cannabis sales in Alberta to be run by Ohio based company

An Ohio based web-developer has been chosen to take the reigns on online cannabis sales in the province of Alberta.

Canadian provinces have been hard at work getting all necessary pieces into place come late summer when cannabis is expected to become legal across the country.

One of the major aspects of legalization will be the sale of cannabis online, and Alberta has given website development, implementation, and management services of these sales to OnX Enterprise Solutions.

“OnX’s multi-national client base, solid reputation, along with their extensive experience implementing thousands of information technology solutions throughout North America and the UK, were key deciding factors in our choice,” said Niaz Nejad, the chief operating officer and vice president of gaming and cannabis for the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission.

“We are confident that the creation and management of Alberta’s online cannabis sales system is in good hands.”

The company will be on a three-year contract, with the option to extend the term up to ten years.
