All the legal private cannabis retail stores currently open in Ontario

What a long, strange trip it’s been, Ontario.

A change in political parties threw a wrench in the original plan of creating publicly owned cannabis retail stores. Ever since Doug Ford and Ontario’s Progressive Conservatives announced that over the counter sales would be placed in the hands of private business, there has been a scramble to get ready for the first day of legal business, April 1.

Twenty-five individuals were given retail licenses in the provincial lottery, and according to the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, 10 have received approval to open from the regulator.
