The RCMP have seized a massive quantity of cannabis plants from an outdoor grow operation in BC.

According to Lytton RCMP, officers on board a police helicopter, spotted a “sizeable outdoor illegal Cannabis grow operation” outside of Lytton last week.

“Due to the size of the grow operation and its physical location, the team decided to return on Saturday to dismantle the site, bearing in mind that often times such locations are typically staged with booby traps meant to injure or kill unsuspecting visitors or first responders,” police said in a release.

Investigators report retrieving 5,200 cannabis plants from the rural site. For their safety, police said teams were airlifted in and out.

Anyone with any additional information about this grow operation site or any other illegal sites are asked to contact the Lytton RCMP at 250-455-2225.
