Homemade “nice” cream

Cold treats are a summer staple and are super easy to make at home.

This recipe is adaptable to your fave flavours, so have fun with it!

(Note: Requires a food processor or high powered blender like Vitamix).

  • Add frozen bananas, cocoa powder, nut butter, and some liquid (any kind of milk works best) to your food processor.
  • Blend and scrape the sides down. Keep processing for about 3-4 minutes until smooth.
  • If you want to enhance this treat, add a bit of THC-infused nut butter or a few drops of tincture.
  • Avoid infused olive oil as it will give this sweet treat a funky taste.

Summer salad

Hit up a local farmers’ market and grab whatever’s fresh. This particular recipe is a crowd pleaser.

  • Toast up almond slivers or pine nuts in the oven or in a pan. They burn quick so keep on eye on them.
  • Toss together some spinach, quartered strawberries, and diced cucumber. Add the nuts once they’ve cooled.
  • Add feta or goat’s cheese for a bit of extra protein.
  • The salad dressing is where the magic happens. Feel free to use an infused oil but be mindful of the dosage. If you want something lighter, mix regular oil and infused oil.
  • Dressing
  • 3/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup sugar/honey/maple syrup. This is also a good place to substitute in infused ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice (you can also add some zest for extra tartness)
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds (keep some toothpicks on hand!)
  • Kosher salt and black pepper to taste
  • You can put all the ingredients in a jar and shake vigorously, or whisk ingredients together starting with the mustard, vinegar, lemon juice, and sugar, then slowly adding in the olive oil and finishing with poppy seeds and S+P

Iced Tea

This is the quintessential summer refreshment, alongside lemonade and beer. It’s a great way to stay hydrated and is super easy to make in big batches.

Simply brew a pot of your favourite tea and let it steep to your desired strength (be mindful of over-steeping though – bitter tea is kind of gross). Try adding some extras like lemon, berries, and ginger to kick things up a notch.

After that, strain the tea if you’re using loose leaf or remove the tea bags. Transfer the tea to a pitcher and keep it in the fridge. Don’t forget to add ice when you’re ready to serve, and perhaps a sprig of fresh mint.

If you’re looking for some infused goodness, Fleurs Tea has three hemp CBD blends. It won’t get you high but might mellow you out if you’ve consumed a bit too much herb.
