Wendy's just launched a plant-based burger across Canada

Wendy’s has officially joined the plant-based party.

Now available across Canada, The Plantiful is the fast-food joint’s newest menu option, and it comes in the form of a plant-based burger.

The option available at this eatery isn’t the trusty Beyond Burger that you’ve come to rely on from various quick-service spots.

Instead, the option was developed by Wendy’s. It consists of a pea-based protein patty and is topped withĀ lettuce, onions, pickles, tomato, mayonnaise, ketchup and a slice of cheese on a bun.

However, you can customize your order, and opt to go free of cheese and mayo, if you want to.

Lisa Deletroz, Senior Director of Marketing for Wendy’s Canada, said in a release that the result of developing the burger, as opposed to using another company’s product, resulted in — what their team believes — is the “best plant-based burger available to Canadians.”

She said that to offer the same product as other restaurants was “simply not an option.”
