Balmy weather forecast for Edmonton next week with a 26-degree warm-up

Apr 15 2026, 5:29 pm

Tired of the cold, wind, rain and snow? Us too. But there’s finally some good news on the horizon. Balmy temperatures are headed for Edmonton early next week, with the mercury expected to climb to nearly 20°C.

But to get there, we’ll have to push through a few more chilly days first. Snow is in the forecast for Edmonton today and tomorrow, with a low of -8°C and daytime highs only reaching -1°C.

Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) says up to two centimetres could fall today, with tomorrow forecast to see a sixty per cent chance of flurries.

Conditions will improve as the weekend approaches. Skies will begin to clear Thursday evening, and milder daytime highs will arrive Friday with a high of 7°C, and warming to 8°C on Saturday.

Double-digit highs will arrive on Sunday, with a high of 14°C, and temperatures will climb as high as 18°C on Tuesday.

Between the coldest and warmest points of the week, that’s a staggering 28-degree difference!

And with above-freezing temperatures over the weekend helping to melt away all of this snow, Tuesday will be the perfect day to get out and enjoy it without having to wade through puddles.

You can find the full forecast on the ECCC website.
